Nourish is an organization working with the health care sector to spread and deepen innovations that use the power of food to build health for people and the planet. They seek to transform food served in hospitals and long-term care, and to encourage preventative health in a sustainable way for communities across the country. By bringing together leaders from the health, community, institutional, and policy sectors, Nourish has created a national community of practice empowering leadership in climate action and health equity.   

Food insecurity is a recurring theme among the work that Nourish is doing. In partnership with the Centre, they launched the Nourish Anchor Cohort, which will support health care and community partnerships to work together to use food as a lever for change, to combat food insecurity, and to build long-lasting community resilience. Guided by their Indigenous and Allies Advisory group, Nourish has also released their Food is Our Medicine campaign, designed to introduce health care professionals and leaders to new and different ways of understanding the complex relationships between Indigenous foodways, reconciliation, healing and health.
